MEC Junior
Scholars Foundation
Our Mission
MEC JR SCHOLARS' mission is to identify and assist African American families of rising Kindergarten children with support, tools, preparation and financial assistance in accessing and matriculating into independent schools in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Who We Serve
This program serves preschool children demonstrating potential, interest and economic challenges in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Our Belief
We believe that there are key components to ensuring levels of academic success. These components include appropriate guidance, as well as knowledge of and access to hands on-support and consistent communication. Within independent schools, understanding academic expectations and social and cultural norms are critical to healthy matriculation not only for the student but also for the entire family.
Through guidance, family engagement, education, mentorship and commitment, parents are prepared to be successful advocates, communicators and leaders on behalf of their child with private school communities and beyond.
Our Team
MEC-Group Educational Service team of professionals and educators are dedicated and committed to providing opportunities for African American Parents of Preschool Students (within the DMV), changing the educational trajectory of young learners (early childhood students).
